About the Role

This role is responsible for supporting the Chef Manager in all aspects of running the kitchen. As the Cook, you will also have the responsibility of overseeing traditional compliance activities including food safety, OHS, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance with food safety, WHS, and quality standards
  • Leading and motivating the kitchen team to achieve high-quality meal production
  • Stock control and ordering to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Resident dietary management to cater to individual needs
  • Kitchen and food cost management to optimize resources
  • Production and delivery of high-quality meals to meet resident expectations
  • Strong front-of-house presence, including communication with residents and families
  • Providing management and guidance to the kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation

Requirements

  • Cook qualifications and experience, with a strong understanding of special dietary needs
  • Experience within Aged Care is advantageous, but not essential
  • Willingness to work as part of a broader catering team to continually improve the catering experience
