Job Title: Senior Upper GI/Hpb Surgery Fellow
","About the Role:
The Upper GI/HPB Fellowship is a key appointment within our department, providing an opportunity for a senior medical officer to develop advanced skills in upper gastrointestinal and hepatic-pancreatic-biliary surgery.
As a fellow, you will work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe and effective person-centred care to patients. You will be responsible for patient assessment and management, patient care coordination, and involvement in major surgery.
You will perform and assist in major UGI/HPB resections, independently undertake fellow lists, and assist during private operating lists. Additionally, you will provide junior medical staff/ registrar support, supervision, feedback, and teaching.
Responsibilities include direct reports, key internal relationships, and key external relationships. As the fellow, you are accountable to your unit head/ consultant for the care of all patients in the unit.
","Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and high-quality person-centred care for patients under your care
- Ensure coordination of care for patients in your unit
- Ensure timely and clear clinical communication including clinical handover with regards to patients under your care
- Ensure timely escalation of care-related issues to your consultant when required
