Job OverviewWe are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Counselling Practitioner - Family and Relationship Services (FaRS) to join our team based in Southport on the Gold Coast. In this role, you will provide counselling to children, couples, adults, and families, assisting them in managing challenges and improving relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Provide brief solution-focused counselling sessions for children, couples, adults, and families.
- Facilitate psycho-educational or therapeutic group sessions.
- Complete client intake, including initial and ongoing risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis counselling as required.
- Manage client referrals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive client outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of contemporary counselling theories and working knowledge of psychotherapeutic counselling techniques.
- Have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply.
- Have a current QLD Driver's Licence.
- Evidence of Australian Work Rights to confirm citizenship or a visa holder.
- Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check or be willing to obtain.
