Job Opportunity

Catering assistants play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of residents in aged care facilities. In this position, you will work closely with our chef to prepare fresh meals that meet the nutritional requirements of our residents.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an aged care environment. They will also possess knowledge in food preparation and safe food handling, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In addition to these skills, the successful candidate will be aware of all relevant WHS guidelines and HACCP requirements. A tertiary qualification in food preparation or commercial cookery is advantageous, but not essential. What is important is that you are able to provide evidence of flu vaccination and COVID vaccination.

This is a permanent part-time position based in Batehaven, NSW. You will work in a challenging yet rewarding environment where you will make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fresh meals for residents in accordance with their dietary requirements
  • Deliver meals to residents in a professional and efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining room and servery areas
  • Assist with kitchen duties as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role
  • Knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Awareness of WHS guidelines and HACCP requirements
