Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an English/Drama Teacher. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching English and Drama, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities that promote active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that reflect the Glenaeon Teaching and Learning Framework.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities and communicate them effectively to students and colleagues.
  • Prepare classrooms for class activities and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
  • Identify and select instructional resources and methods to cater to individual student needs.
  • Instruct and monitor students in using learning materials and equipment, promoting independence and self-directed learning.
  • Utilize technology to support instruction and enhance the learning experience.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development, providing constructive feedback to inform future teaching practices.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments promptly, ensuring timely feedback to students.
  • Provide regular progress updates to colleagues, parents, and guardians, fostering a collaborative approach to student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development, using data to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Manage classroom behavior by establishing rules and procedures, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Contribute to departmental and school programs beyond the curriculum, showcasing a passion for education and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Head of School, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or licensure in English and Drama.
  • Proven track record of effective teaching and learning practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
