Job Title: APS6 Intake Allocator

A role that combines clinical acumen with operational support for a qualified mental health professional.

About the Role

This position is responsible for managing the regional intake and referral queue, ensuring timely allocation of clients to clinicians. It also involves conducting intake assessments for couples and family counselling, including FDV screening.

Liaising with clients, clinicians, and internal teams to ensure trauma-informed client-centred support is crucial in this role. Additionally, maintaining a small clinical caseload and supporting internal referrals are key responsibilities.

The successful candidate will contribute to quality improvement, program evaluation, and clinical policy development while working closely with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified professional who brings a warm, empathic, and professional therapeutic approach. The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound clinical judgement, attention to detail, and effective time management skills.

They must thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and be able to confidently prioritise tasks. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, are essential.

Candidates should possess experience in assessing and managing risk, particularly in family and domestic violence contexts. They should also be comfortable using IT systems and clinical documentation tools.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Working with Vulnerable People registration or the ability to obtain it.
  • Registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Membership of the AASW as a Social Worker
  • A Masters level of Counselling qualification and registration with PACFA (Clinical) or ACA Level 3 or 4
