About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to join our team as a Corporate Secretary. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to policy development, strategic planning, and future directions of the Board and WorkSafe Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities

As secretary to the Board under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, section 14, you will provide Secretariat oversight of the Board and associated subcommittee activities and proactive advice to the Board on corporate governance. You will also lead the Corporate Governance Unit of WorkSafe Tasmania and provide supervision, direction, and instruction to the Manager Secretariat and Assistant Director Business Services.

Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a Barrister or Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

Desirable Requirements

We are looking for someone with at least three years' experience in legal practice relevant to the duties of the position and experience as a company secretary or in a board environment, including membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors or the Governance Institute of Australia.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $150,000-$180,000 AUD, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
