About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Career Guidance Specialist to join our team at St Mary MacKillop College. As a key member of our education community, you will play a vital role in supporting students to develop essential skills in career planning, preparation for work experience, and effective employee skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging and supportive learning environments that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Analyse and reflect on student learning data to maximise growth and achievement.
  • Bilateral communication with colleagues, parents, and guardians to ensure collaborative support for student success.
  • Collaborative working within teams to promote inclusive and positive school culture.
  • Organising professional development activities to enhance teaching practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Teaching.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children Check (WWCC) registration.
  • Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) registration.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Comprehensive understanding of the Australian Curriculum and its implementation.
  2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for positive engagement with students, staff, and parents.
  3. Capacity to be a proactive contributor to a professional learning community adhering to legal, administrative, and professional standards.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management and organisational skills creating safe and inclusive learning environments.
  5. Understanding of assessment and reporting strategies providing timely and effective feedback.

Other Eligibility Criteria:

  • Citizenship or Permanent Residency in Australia.
  • Satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
