Welcome to a unique nursing career advancement opportunity at Northern Beaches Hospital, where you can transition into Women and Children's nursing through our twelve-month transitional pathway program.

Program Overview

The program is designed to support early career Registered Nurses in achieving their goals and advancing their careers. You will have the opportunity to rotate throughout various areas of the Women and Children's service, including Maternity, Paediatrics, and Special Care Nursery (Neonatal), under the guidance of expert Clinical Midwifery/Nurse Educators and clinical facilitators.

Salary and Benefits

You will be offered a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, with a salary ranging from $35.46 to $49.79 per hour.

As part of the program, you will also receive protected teaching time, tasks, assessments, and competencies to complete, ensuring your successful completion of the Program. Upon completing the program, you will have the opportunity to apply for entrance into the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery at Northern Beaches Hospital or ongoing employment in Paediatrics or SCN, with future opportunities to complete a graduate certificate in one of these areas.

Essential Criteria

  • AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse minimum 2 years experience
  • Ability to work minimum 36 hours per week for the duration of the program (12 months)
  • Ability to work a rotating roster
  • Completion of a New Graduate Program (does not have to have been at NBH)
  • A strong commitment to your own professional development

Deseirable Criteria

  • Experience in Surgical or other Specialty area (may have been part of a graduate program)

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check and a NSW Working with Children's Check prior to appointment, and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
