Establishing a Career in Equine Training

Job Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished horse trainer/educator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in the role and be able to demonstrate their reliability as a worker with excellent horsemanship skills.

The following qualifications and abilities are required:

  • Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods, particularly thoroughbred racing
  • Proven ability to train and educate young and older horses
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to take instruction and provide information to other staff and owners
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently, with proven management experience if the position is for a lead trainer role
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety protocols and demonstrated proficiency in the safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses on riding pace/timed work and jump outs

Responsibilities will include educating young horses on the ground, managing a small team of horses and staff under the direction of the head trainer, and upholding the highest standards of equine care and welfare.
