Pain Medicine Advanced Trainee Role

At our leading multidisciplinary pain management service, we offer a comprehensive training opportunity for Pain Medicine Trainees. Based at Epworth Hospital Waurn Ponds, the service provides diverse clinical exposure across private and public sectors, with access to cutting-edge resources and specialist teams.

This second-year Pain Medicine Trainee role offers advanced clinical training in a supportive environment with opportunities to enhance skills in invasive procedures (including neuromodulation) and participate in innovative cognitive-behavioral programs. You will be involved in both inpatient and outpatient care, with significant interface to Epworth Hospital's resources and clinical network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exposure to a broad range of acute and chronic pain presentations;
  • Development of advanced procedural skills including neuromodulation techniques;
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including Psychiatry, Psychology, Physiotherapy, and allied health;
  • Supportive mentorship from experienced Pain Medicine Specialists;
  • Active involvement in quality assurance, teaching, and research activities.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates should have:

  • Successfully completed Year 1 Pain Training or equivalent experience;
  • Enrollment in or eligibility for enrollment in the Pain Medicine Training Program;
  • Passed or eligibility to sit the Foundations of Pain Medicine Examination;
  • Completed primary specialty Fellowship or eligibility for training credit for Pain Medicine.
