Job Description

  • \r
  • Maintain a robust compliance framework for our business, aligning with Australian standards;\r
  • Provide expert regulatory advice on energy retailing obligations in the NEM, WA, and related gas sectors;\r
  • Support licensing requirements for our B2B and B2C retail activities;\r
  • Identify and manage regulatory issues and risks affecting our business, working collaboratively with other advisors;\r
  • Proactively identify gaps and corrective actions for maintaining an effective compliance regime;\r
  • Develop and maintain documentation to support the Regulatory Affairs function;\r
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assist the business in implementing updates, including training;\r
  • Guide the company on regulatory obligations and means of compliance with legislative conditions across all parts of the business;\r
  • Collaborate with IT to develop systems supporting compliance and reporting obligations;\r
  • Oversee and advise the business on maintaining adequate documentation and processes, supporting preparation for compliance audits;\r
  • Manage staff compliance training on key issues;\r
  • Respond to regulatory requests from external parties;\r

About the Role

This is a key position within our Regulatory Affairs group, reporting to the Regulatory Manager and Compliance Advisor. You'll work closely with various stakeholders across Shell Energy, including business units, regulators, and industry bodies.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • \r
  • A deep understanding of the regulated Australian energy environment and relevant regulatory obligations;\r
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail;\r
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to respond quickly to new regulatory compliance risks;\r
  • Highly organised with advanced time management skills;\r
  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant industry certificates/trainings are highly desired.\r

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
