Mentor Teacher Position

At Step Forward, we seek a dedicated and experienced educator to fill the role of Mentor Teacher. This position is crucial in providing guidance and support to our Head Start staff members while fostering a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishes working relationships with teaching staff and site administrators to provide feedback through observations, modeling/mentoring teaching activities, and conducting meetings and trainings.
  • Assists in annual reviews of education plans, curriculum, and policies and procedures.
  • Serves as an advisor for staff needing professional development assistance, providing resources, strategies, and self-evaluation tools to support teacher development.
  • Assists in planning and providing in-service training and workshops.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, Special Education, or a related field, along with two years of experience working with preschool children. Additionally, they must have successfully completed pre-employment assessments, including fingerprinting, drug testing, medical examinations, and background checks.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Two years of experience working with preschool children.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments.
