As a Tax Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance across jurisdictions and delivering strategic tax advice to leadership and teams.
- Prepare income tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations with a focus on Papua New Guinea.
- Prepare and lodge monthly GST and Withholding Tax returns for Papua New Guinea and Australia.
- Manage and lodge Tax Clearance Certificate applications to facilitate foreign currency payments from Papua New Guinea.
- Ensure Papua New Guinea Tax Statements of Account and balances recorded by the Internal Revenue Commission are accurate and up-to-date.
- Review commercial contracts for tax implications, including determination of applicable withholding taxes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key contacts at the Papua New Guinea IRC Large Taxpayer Office.
- Provide tax advice to the business on a range of technical tax matters.
- Design and deliver tax training to the business as required.
To be successful in this role, requirements include a Bachelor of Law/Commerce/Business degree, membership of CAANZ/CPA (or equivalent), and Microsoft Excel-Advanced skills. A minimum of 5 years' tax experience in public practice or corporate groups is also required.
