About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team at NSW Health. As a Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, you will be responsible for providing expert medical assessment and management of inpatients and outpatients with respiratory diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality specialist respiratory services to emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients at our hospitals.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality services to all patients in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Support the development of respiratory services and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice.
  • Champion the needs of respiratory patients in the community and support respiratory research within the department.
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with specialist qualification in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
