Heavy Duty Mechanic - Workshop Technician

CJD Equipment is seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team as a Workshop Technician in our Newcastle Branch.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with world-class products such as VOLVO Construction Equipment and SDLG Wheel Loaders, and to develop your skills in a busy service department.

As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out diagnosis and troubleshooting procedures to identify mechanical failures
  • Performing daily reporting and communication of work conducted
  • Following warranty procedures
  • Providing excellent customer service to our valued clients

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A commitment to safety in the workplace
  • A Heavy Duty plant (or similar) trade qualification
  • Construction equipment technical knowledge, with the ability to carry out servicing and repairs in the field
  • A MR or HV truck and forklift licence (or ability to obtain)
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner
  • The ability to write reports and keep daily records
  • Experience using computer-based service diagnostic programs and parts catalogues
