Junior Sous Chef Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to fill the role of Junior Sous Chef in our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations and contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen.
  • Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards, promoting a healthy and hygienic workplace.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for high-quality food, with a focus on creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to lead a section and work well under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
