About the Role

This is a fixed-term temporary role that has an immediate start until 30 June 2027, unless otherwise determined. The base location of this role is Central Office, Brisbane.

The Director, School and Regional Capability (Behaviour) will join the Student Support Branch to lead a number of projects to support student behaviour, including the development, delivery and evaluation of a suite of professional learning resources for all school staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate business and project planning functions and provide strategic input into portfolio planning and reporting.
  2. Develop and deliver professional learning resources for all school staff.
  3. Provide high level support and advice to senior departmental officers.
  4. Respond to and coordinate responses to complex and sensitive issues and complaints.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated effectiveness undertaking leadership roles in complex and sensitive environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely advice often within tight timeframes.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and present a range of solutions to complex issues.
