About the Role
In this role, you will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre setting, supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from a variety of sources, including the member, medical team, and Command, offering diversity in presentations and support requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting need
- Use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests, and scope of practice
- Autonomy to manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members
- Management of crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning, supported within a multi-disciplinary team
Requirements
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting, undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
- Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable)
- Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy (desirable)

Leeuwin Health Centre is a health centre that supports the Joint Health Unit HQ and services offered are non-patient facing, telehealth-based. It has a great culture and environment within a small team.
