Support Worker Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide exceptional care and support to our clients with diverse needs. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in promoting positive outcomes and empowering individuals to achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person-centred support, utilising a recovery-focused approach to assist customers in achieving their objectives. This may involve tasks such as:

  • Providing motivation and support around daily activities like cleaning, cooking, and shopping
  • Facilitating community participation and socialisation
  • Assisting with medication administration and attending appointments

You will operate effectively within a team environment, working unsupervised and individually to meet the needs of our clients. Your duties will also include completing customer documentation, collaborating with your supervisor to identify continuous improvements, and contributing to shift duties to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate III (or higher) in social work, mental health, disability, community services, aged care, nursing, counselling, psychology (or in progress)
  • Experience in actively supporting people with disabilities, particularly those with complex needs, within a person-centred framework
  • Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours
