MacKillop Family Services is a leading provider of family preservation and reunification services in Victoria. Our team works with families to prevent children from entering or re-entering out-of-home care, while also promoting family well-being and resilience.
Salary
This role offers an hourly rate of $49.28 to $51.51 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 5, dependent on qualification and experience. We also offer salary packaging opportunities, allowing you to maximize your take-home pay.
Job Description
As an FPR Practitioner, you will be responsible for working with families to identify and address key challenges that may be contributing to child protection concerns. This may involve providing intensive intervention and support, as well as connecting families with local service networks and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized support plans for families
• Conduct home visits and other outreach activities to engage with families
• Collaborate with local service providers to ensure seamless service delivery
• Provide education and training to families on topics such as attachment, trauma, and intergenerational disadvantage
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, or Psychology
• Significant work experience in a related field, preferably with a focus on child development and family support
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families and other stakeholders
• A deep understanding of attachment and trauma theories, as well as their application in practice
