About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to support our expanding operations in the Hunter Valley region.

This onsite role offers the opportunity to work across multiple mine sites, ensuring the reliability and security of our technology infrastructure.

Job Description

As a Technology Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will span network management, server administration, virtualization, and hardware support.

This is a hands-on position that requires travel between mine sites, and we are looking for a candidate who is either based in Singleton or Muswellbrook, or open to relocating to the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols, ensuring consistent, secure connectivity across all sites.
  • Support, maintain, and administer Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server, SQL databases, and hardware across multiple locations.
  • Perform virtualization tasks using VMware to optimize and streamline IT infrastructure.
  • Provide hardware support and manage lifecycle maintenance to ensure high availability of systems.
  • Utilize CISCO or equivalent network switching experience to maintain efficient network operations.
  • Experience with Fortinet firewall technology is an advantage but not essential.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with routing protocols and TCP/IP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server, and SQL.
  • Skilled in VMware virtualization.
  • CISCO or similar network switching expertise.
  • Current driver's license (required due to travel between sites).
  • Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls is beneficial.
  • Must have full working rights for the duration of the contract; sponsorship is not available for this position.

About You

You are a detail-oriented IT Systems Engineer with extensive knowledge in infrastructure support. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are comfortable working independently across various locations.

Your experience with VMware and network infrastructure, combined with your commitment to excellence, makes you an ideal fit for this role.

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of $50-60 + Superannuation.
  • The opportunity to travel between Hunter Valley mine sites.
  • Contract extension potential based on performance and project requirements.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team environment.
