Job Description

A cybersecurity architect will lead the design, implementation and oversight of defense-grade systems across networks, platforms and on-premise environments. This involves ensuring integrity, compliance and resilience of secure systems in accordance with Australian standards and mission critical needs.

The role requires working across engineering and operations teams to implement technical controls, conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with the Australian ISM and other defence frameworks. Additionally, securing and maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) is crucial by implementing technical security controls in classified environments aligned with Australian ISM requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce cybersecurity standards in alignment with NIST, ISO/IEC27001 and the ASD Essential Eight
  • Support the preparation and submission of cybersecurity artifacts required for ATO processes, including security documentation, risk registers and evidence packages
  • Implement and validate technical security controls in classified environments aligned with Australian ISM requirements
  • Develop and deploy security tools to address vulnerabilities, automate tasks and strengthen defenses
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, vulnerability testing and security audits
  • Monitor and analyse logs and security events to detect, assess and respond to threats
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement secure authentication, encryption and access control solutions
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging cybersecurity technologies to enhance infrastructure protection
  • Clearly articulate security strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure solution delivery
