About the Role

This Safety Business Partner position plays a crucial role in our organisation's commitment to safety excellence. As a key member of our safety management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe implementation of client safety systems and processes.

Key Accountabilities

* Operational Responsibilities (4 days per week):
    Lead regional safety initiatives/activities.
    Undertake risk assessments and implement effective strategies to mitigate risks.
    Design and deliver training sessions that align with relevant ISO certification standards.
    Build client systems, templates, and enhance contractor capacity for effective risk management.
    Mentor/support operational staff in the field to develop sound skills to successfully integrate, deliver and review safe systems of work within the field environment.
    Develop and participate in a program of audits/inspections for client Contractors in consultation with General Manager, Safety and Operational General Manager.
    Enter safety training for safety training in client Safety Management Systems.
    Ensure data entered into the client Safety Systems is complete, actioned and closed out in a timely manner.
    Participate in Operational Forums and Working Groups that are intended to improve worker safety as requested by General Manager, Safety/Regional General Manager.
    Coordinate Regional Contractor Safety Audit Program with Regional Lead Team.

Corporate Responsibilities (1 day per week)

  • Lead/Collaborate on safety and wellbeing related projects as directed by General Manager, Safety.
  • Participate in working groups and forums pertaining to safety both within client and on behalf of client at external forums (AFPA/AFCA).
  • Draft Safety Documentation as requested by General Manager, Safety for approval by appropriate client officer.
  • Champion and support the implementation of safety initiatives at regional levels.
  • Participate in compulsory training and engagement sessions.
