Senior Occupational Therapy Leadership Position

This role is designed for a highly skilled Occupational Therapist who can lead clinical services and discipline-specific programs in community mental health.

The position holds the portfolio of allied health workforce development for Mental Health and Specialised Services (MHSS).

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21 and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70

About the Role:

The Senior Occupational Therapist will contribute effectively to the strategic direction, including implementing accountability for healthcare services operating across the HHS or Service Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to senior managers and other stakeholders on occupational therapy and broader allied health workforce service needs across mental health services.
  • Offer profession-specific clinical practice supervision and professional support to occupational therapists of varying levels of expertise and skills.
  • Contribute to the Allied Health in Mental Health Supervision Model endorsed by Queensland Health.
