Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Department Assistant to join our team at Costco North Lakes - Brisbane. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and providing exceptional service to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night, rework display cases, and rotate product.
  • Meat Preparation: Take large trays of styro-packaged meat from large wheeled racks and place individual packages into the automatic wrapping machine, following safety and security procedures.
  • Labeling and Packaging: Set the labeller according to product type and price, print and apply labels to product, and ensure accurate and efficient packaging.
  • Inventory Management: Put wrapped and labeled meat on large trays of large wheeled carts and stock in display cases by reaching through sliding windows or moving racks to the floor.
  • Quality Control: Operate the meat grinder, dump meat into the top of the machine, and check fat content of each batch from the grinder, following proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, perform duties to comply with health code, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements.
  • Customer Service: Provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. You will also need to be able to work a rotating roster, including weekends.
