We're seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee the Hot Strip Mill operations at our Port Kembla facility. As a key member of our Australian Steel Products portfolio, you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional performance while minimizing costs and waste.

About the Role

This permanent opportunity involves working on a 7-day roster with 12-hour shifts, including days and nights. When not relieving, you'll work Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day. You will be involved in improvement projects during this period.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support shift operations teams, ensuring they meet business targets and adhere to standards.
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervise operational activities and strive for manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cultivate a safe and positive work environment by coaching and mentoring team members.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering (mechanical or electrical or operational), which would be highly regarded.
  • A strong focus on safety, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others.
  • The ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements and scheduling demands.
  • The capacity to translate business objectives into clear actions and outcomes for your team.
