
Aboriginal Tenancy Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support First Nations individuals and families experiencing complex challenges in their housing. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop tailored case plans that address tenancy issues and promote overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide intensive support to First Nations peoples whose tenancy is at risk, utilising strengths-based and culturally safe approaches.
- Collaborate with individuals and families to create effective case plans that address root causes of tenancy instability.
- Support tenants to improve and sustain property conditions through targeted interventions and referrals to relevant services.
- Conduct regular case conferences with multidisciplinary teams to ensure tenant goals and aspirations are central to decision-making processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, contributing to program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- A background in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Counselling or related fields.
- Proven experience working with First Nations people, communities and cultural protocols.
- The ability to manage complex caseloads while adhering to culturally safe practice principles.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice models in community settings.
- Understanding of housing issues and the social justice principles that guide this work.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy and an understanding of the complexities faced by First Nations communities.
