Addiction Advisor

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate addiction specialist to provide free, confidential, and non-judgmental counselling and support for individuals, families, and community members concerned about their own or someone else's addiction.

• Deliver specialist therapeutic interventions via face-to-face, telephone, and online methods to support individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by addiction.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
• Facilitate group support sessions to address addiction in the community.

• Provide therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by addiction.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
• Deliver services in line with the program framework, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
• Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records and data in line with funding requirements.

• Degree in Psychology or Counselling / Other related Degree and Diploma in Counselling.
• Current membership of a relevant peak professional body or association.
• Proven experience in therapeutic counselling, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions across face-to-face, phone, and online settings.
• A strong understanding of addiction-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans supporting client recovery and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
