Job Overview

The role of Senior Test Engineer - Hardware Engineering encompasses leading the development and management of comprehensive test strategies, overseeing environmental and factory acceptance testing to ensure high-quality products reach clients.

This critical position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with an innovative mindset. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing hardware through V&V activities and factory acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement test strategies in collaboration with Product Delivery/Principal Engineers.
  • Manage system requirements for effective validation and verification.
  • Estimate, develop, and execute environmental test plans while driving efficiency.
  • Capture and document all objective qualification evidence for product release.
  • Investigate test failures and collaborate with engineers on remediation.
  • Lead or support rectification, replacement, or modification during testing phases.
  • Conduct factory acceptance testing on-site and off-site for new hardware products.
  • Provide engineering artefacts and support technical/internal/external reviews.
  • Drive timely and high-quality delivery of assigned tasks and report progress.
  • Build strong working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or related field).
  • Eligibility for membership with a recognised professional engineering body.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Recognised Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Eligibility to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance (willingness to apply for NV2).
