Job Description

We are seeking a talented professional to join our team in a challenging and dynamic role. This position involves working closely with clients to assist in various tasks, including tax due diligence, structuring, post-deal implementation, advisory services, and updates.

You will work directly with clients across various industries, providing valuable advice and assistance with duty and land tax compliance, planning, and disputes resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Due Diligence – Assist in buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes, identifying duty and land tax exposures, focusing on risk assessment and clear communication.
  • Structuring – Advising on duty consequences of mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and divestments.
  • Post-Deal Implementation – Identifying duty obligations and assisting in preparing submissions for lodgements, applications, rulings, and objections with revenue authorities.
  • Advisory Services – Conducting tax research, providing advice on tax planning opportunities, and assisting clients in managing tax risks.
  • Updates – Staying up-to-date with state tax developments and actively participating in training.

You will build ongoing relationships with clients across infrastructure, property, energy, natural resources, financial services, and funds industries, providing highly valued advice and assistance with duty and land tax compliance, planning, and disputes resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a client-facing environment, drive individual development, personal initiative, willingness to take responsibility for work, keen attention to detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities.

A completed Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or equivalent is required. Recent M&A/transactional experience is advantageous.
