We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Maritime Emissions and Environment section. As the Director of Maritime Decarbonisation, you will be responsible for providing advice on maritime decarbonisation initiatives and developing and implementing our domestic maritime decarbonisation program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice on maritime decarbonisation initiatives and develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping.
- Lead the development and implementation of our domestic maritime decarbonisation program, including progressing legislative reform.
- Work with state and territory governments, industry, and international partners to deliver green shipping initiatives and negotiate green shipping corridors.
- Represent Australia at International Maritime Organization meetings and engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to advance our maritime decarbonisation agenda.
- Proven experience in maritime decarbonisation, shipping regulation, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and evaluate complex information to make sound decisions.
- Willingness to continue learning and developing skills to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in maritime decarbonisation.
