About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant to join our team at RMIT University. As a Research Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in renewable energy, contributing to the development of sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in solar thermal technology, graphene, and other advanced materials for renewable energy applications.
  • Collaborate with our research team to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and develop new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to secure funding and resources for research projects.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals, reports, and publications, and present research findings at conferences and seminars.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives, and contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong research experience in renewable energy, materials science, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to achieving project goals and objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and develop new technologies.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field, such as materials science, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline. A strong understanding of research methods and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are essential for this role.
