Based in Charters Towers, a rural city approximately 1 hour inland from Townsville in Tropical North Queensland.
We offer routine and preventative care services for pets and horses, including vaccinations, desexing and dentistry, as well as emergency treatment of medical and surgical cases.
Clinic FacilitiesPurpose-built clinic with modern facilities and plenty of space.
IDEXX in-house pathology lab, wireless DR x-ray, large and small animal ultrasound, IM3 dental suite including dental x-ray, indoor horse crush at the clinic and mobile horse crush and dental kit including power float.
Stables for hospitalisation of horses requiring ongoing care.
About YouWe are looking for an experienced vet who is ready, willing and able to mentor our recent graduates with both clinical and professional support.
This may also include joining our leadership team and contributing to the future direction of TVS and our strategic planning.
- Routine and first opinion small animal consultations, including vaccinations and health checks, skin conditions, lameness, ear and eye consultations, sick animals, tick paralysis, snake bites and other emergency presentations.
- Routine small animal surgery and procedures, including desexings, lump removals, dentistry and wound treatments.
- Farm visits to local beef producers to pregnancy test a mob of cattle, check a sore eye, assist pulling a malpresented calf, or fertility test some bulls.
Confident yet humble veterinarian, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and be adaptable.
Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients, someone who solves problems and has a 'can do' attitude.
Positive outlook and desire to have fun and enjoy your work. Registration with the Queensland Veterinary Surgeons Board or other recognised jurisdiction.
