The Supreme Court of Victoria seeks a motivated and team-focused individual to fill the role of Registry Officer in the Commercial Court. The Registry Officer will be responsible for providing administrative services to the judiciary, legal profession, Court users, and the public.
The role is varied and challenging, requiring the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be flexible in approach. A wide range of administrative tasks will be performed, including:
- Checking and processing legal documents in compliance with Rules.
- Providing technical guidance and support to Court users regarding policy, practice, and procedure.
- Maintaining the Court's electronic case management system.
- Preparing and authenticating Court orders.
- Liaising and assisting the chambers of Judicial Officers.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with Registry Lawyers and Associates.
- Undertaking other necessary administrative functions in order to support the operations of the Court.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Additionally, experience in business administration or legal-related studies is desirable.
Required Skills and QualificationsCompletion or studying for business administration, legal related studies, or Certificate IV in Government Studies Court Services is highly recommended. Applicants should have a high level of proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
A good understanding of the Victorian court system and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies are also essential.
