Are you a motivated and self-starting legal professional looking to apply your expertise in mental health and criminal law?

Forensicare is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal, Governance and Strategy team.

• The successful candidate will have 1-2 years post-admission experience in a respected firm or in-house setting.

You will be confident and personable, with excellent communication and drafting skills. You will thrive in a team environment and successfully engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

1. Support the delivery of high-quality legal services.
2. Assist in commercial contracting, privacy, employment, corporate governance and risk management.
3. Ensure Forensicare's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and codes of conduct.

This role will expose the successful candidate to a breadth of legal, compliance and governance issues and provide an opportunity to develop their legal expertise.

Forensicare delivers recovery-focused programs to consumers with serious mental illnesses across the Victorian justice system, mental health sector, and the community.

These services are delivered through three streams - inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations across the State.
