About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Robert Walters. This is an exciting opportunity to provide technical accounting expertise, implement robust financial systems and processes, and take ownership of financial reporting and compliance for our manufacturing organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, while adhering to Australian accounting standards.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts, utilizing your excellent budgeting and forecasting skills.
  3. Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including forecasting cash requirements, to ensure the organisation's liquidity for operational needs.
  4. Cost Control and Efficiency: Implement cost control measures to optimise operational efficiency, identifying opportunities to enhance financial and operational processes.
  5. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide insightful financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs), to support informed decision-making by senior management.
  6. Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and taxation regulations in Australia, including implementing and maintaining financial systems and software.
  7. Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control procedures, overseeing the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  8. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  2. Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CA certification.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with a background in complex manufacturing industry finance highly preferred.
  4. Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting knowledge, proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, and experience in implementing and managing financial systems and ERP software.
  5. Communication Skills: Advanced level of written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
