Job Description: Channel Sales Engineer

The Channel Sales Engineer is a key role within our sales channel business, responsible for providing technical sales expertise to our Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners. This position requires a strong focus on Commvault's SaaS solutions, with a deep understanding of how partner decisions impact customer outcomes and drive revenue for Commvault.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with Commvault's sales and MSP channel teams in Australia and New Zealand to execute strategies aligned with key SaaS MSP partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, working closely as a trusted resource for segments of our partner ecosystem.
  • Provide technical product knowledge and support, including demonstrations, technical presentations, and answering technical queries.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry knowledge and technology trends, and leverage this expertise to drive sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal sales teams to develop effective technical sales strategies.
  • Train and educate partners on Commvault's solutions and services, ensuring success in demonstrations, proof of value, scoping, and sales campaigns.
  • Drive detailed, executable technical account plans for focus targets and current partners, utilizing Commvault's target account selling methodology.
  • Participate in trade events, conferences, and partner sessions to generate leads and promote Commvault's solutions and services.
  • Continuously develop and maintain technical expertise through training, certifications, and industry events.
Requirements:
  • Frequent travel within the region.
  • Security, Cloud/SaaS, and Data Management experience.
  • Specialized knowledge and skills in major open systems operating systems, hypervisors, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of major workloads, including Microsoft, Active Directory, Database, SQL, SAP, Oracle, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of SaaS infrastructure technologies, including cloud, storage, servers, networking, and hyper-convergence.
  • Technical selling methodology, gathering feedback to create product expertise with business, industry, and competitive acumen.
  • Solid experience with business case creation and TCO modeling.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder and business relationships.
