Emergency Medicine Physician/Consultant Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to join our esteemed healthcare facility as an Emergency Medicine Physician/Consultant. The role requires exceptional patient care and expertise in emergency medicine, with strong interpersonal and communication skills invaluable for assisting with problem solving, resolving conflicts and negotiation.

About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician/Consultant to join our dedicated team, working across 7 days, managing 38 hours (4 shifts per week). Collaborating with Senior Registrars/Medical Practitioners, you will work overnight while Consultants are available on call. This diverse role involves experiencing a range of cases from neonates to geriatric patients, including trauma, resuscitation and toxicology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality patient care and expert medical services.
  2. Work effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless teamwork and optimal patient outcomes.
  3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration and conflict resolution.
  4. Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to complex medical challenges.

About Us:

The hospital serves as a primary regional healthcare facility, boasting over 200 beds and serving as a specialised referral centre for northern Victoria. We cater to a population of around 90,000 and manage nearly 19,000 inpatient cases and 23,000 visits to the Emergency Department annually. Our comprehensive services include acute specialist medical and surgical care, encompassing emergency departments, critical care units, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and specialised aged care.
