We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pool Lifeguard to join our team at Hume City Council. As a key member of our aquatic operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our customers and staff while providing high-quality aquatic and recreation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety: Ensure the Royal Lifesaving Society 'Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations' and other relevant guidelines and regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Aquatic Supervision: Maintain appropriate aquatic supervision at all times through continued observation of the aquatic areas in-line with pool lifeguard training, handbooks and processes.
- Customer Education: Take an active role educating the public on aquatic safety through informal discussions and educating users on aquatic safety including rule enforcement in-line with the relevant procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is placed in an appropriate location at commencement of duty and is used and maintained in-line with protocols.
- Reporting and Record Keeping: Ensure satisfactory completion of all pool duties required during each shift and that the recording of data and information is accurate, complete, and entered in accordance with set procedures.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Current Pool Lifeguard Award, Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Current CPR Certificate, and Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality customer service.
- Personal Qualities: Courteous, friendly, and professional manner, ability to maintain concentration and alertness during extended periods of duty, and ability to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and community groups.
