Job Title: Groundskeeper - Part Time

Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas of Rowville Primary School, ensuring they are safe, clean and attractive. This includes operating hand tools, maintaining the Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden, weeding, trimming and pruning gardens on a planned cycle, removing unhealthy plants and shrubs, watering grounds and gardens, raking gum leaves and other vegetation from gardens, planting shrubs and trees, and removing rubbish from outdoor areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the school's outdoor spaces to ensure they are well-kept and visually appealing
  • Operating machinery and equipment such as leaf blowers
  • Assisting with gardening tasks such as weeding, pruning and planting
  • Ensuring that the outdoor areas are free from debris and hazards
  • Working collaboratively with other maintenance staff to achieve common goals

Requirements:

  • Aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position

  • Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
  • An interest in plants and gardens
