The Position
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at JPS Medical. This role provides a high standard of anaesthetic care to all patients, including perioperative care, audit, education, research, and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing acute, chronic, and persistent pain conditions, as well as those complicated by other medical conditions.
The Hospital Overview
JPS Medical is a 160-bed facility and the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community. Our ICU is an 8-bed Level 2 unit, catering to a general case mix of patients, including trauma cases, sepsis, multi-system failure, post-operative complications, unstable angina/AMI, cardiac failure/arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.
The Location
Our location offers a unique blend of natural beauty and urban convenience, with a vibrant shopping district and pristine coastline. The local countryside is renowned for its produce, with opportunities to buy award-winning cheese and taste whisky at the cellar door. We have a variety of restaurants and delis to suit all tastes.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must either:
- Be registered with AHPRA and have at least 12 months recent experience
- Be on the ANZCA training program and approaching Fellowship
- Hold the FANZCA qualification
- Meet the requirements for the Competent Authority Pathway or hold a confirmed ANZCA interview date
