About the Role:
As a seasoned Credit Risk Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily credit operations, including collections on high-value transactions, reviewing credit limits, and producing reports.
This key role involves collaborating closely with clients, branch teams, and management to ensure accounts are well-maintained and credit risks are minimised.
- Collections: Direct with clients, often involving high value transactions, with new debts falling due every day.
- Managing Credit Limits: Reviewing and preparing submissions for limit increases, or assisting clients to work within their existing credit limit.
- Producing Daily Reports
Achieve results through effective leadership, communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Operational Efficiency: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and accurate processing of credit applications and reporting.
- Credit Decision Making: Analyse credit data and make informed decisions regarding credit approvals and declines, maintaining risk exposure within acceptable parameters.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, collections, and client services, to drive business growth and minimise risk.
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following qualities and skills:
- Previous Commercial Credit Experience: Solid understanding of debt recovery processes, analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience working in a commercial credit environment.
- Clear Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and negotiate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Sound MS Office Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to create informative reports and presentations.
- Decisive: The ability to make sound decisions based on available data and take a firm stand, while also considering the views and perspectives of others.
- Integrity: Consistently honest with yourself and others, upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity in all your interactions.
- Performance Management: Proactive and solution-focused, with a track record of monitoring and maintaining performance levels, escalating issues as necessary, and discussing concerns with your manager.
- Interpersonal Flexibility: Effective in relating to diverse individuals, adapting your approach to suit different personalities, needs, and preferences.
