Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Lawyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to take their career to the next level.

About the Role:

  • This is a senior-level position that involves providing expert commercial legal advice to all business units.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing marketing material to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Key responsibilities include contract drafting, review, and negotiation, as well as insurance product advice and documentation.
  • You will provide litigation support for corporate litigation and offer legal guidance on complaints and potential disputes.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for staff legal training and providing support to senior lawyers, the general counsel & office of the CEO.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent).
  • A current NSW (or other Australian State) Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
  • Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of the commercial environment of the general insurance market is essential.
  • Highly developed stakeholder and people management skills are required.
  • A high level of written and spoken language skills is necessary.
