The Australian Turf Club is seeking a skilled Groundsperson to join its team at Royal Randwick racecourse.

As a key member of the Tracks team, you will be responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks and grounds in the best possible condition.

Job Description:

Turf Maintenance and Operations

The successful candidate will undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens, and maintenance instructions. They will also operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front-end loaders, forklifts, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers, and general spray operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain turf, synthetic, artificial, and other surfaces to the highest standard.
  • Operate various types of machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks as required.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Appropriate licenses to operate specialist machinery.
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment, including Bobcat, Grader, and Excavator.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
