About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our Banking and Engineering Platforms team on a permanent full-time basis. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in detecting and responding to cyber incidents, working closely with the Security Operations Centre to provide operational support, technical expertise, monitoring, incident analysis and resolution, problem resolution, maintenance, change and configuration, deployment and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Investigate alerts from the Data Loss Prevention platforms and collaborate with data owners to identify and respond to threats.
  2. Operate the SIEM platform to rapidly identify and investigate anomalous activity within SLA.
  3. Manage cyber threats and incidents in accordance with defined cyber response playbooks, incorporating learnings to enhance our overall security posture.
  4. Continuously monitor and analyze potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents, and take proactive measures to address them.
  5. Conduct in-depth investigations and threat hunting activities on potential security threats.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the evolving threat landscape and attack techniques as they relate to Great Southern Bank.
  7. Implement security controls to protect hybrid IT infrastructure, including Cloud and SaaS Apps.
  8. Design, implement, and manage cloud security solutions to protect data and applications in cloud environments, as well as monitor and assess cloud environments for security vulnerabilities and threats.
About You
  1. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a large, complex, sophisticated fast-paced 24x7 IT environment.
  2. An IT or Cyber Security degree is essential.
  3. You will have demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  4. Professional Cyber qualifications (e.g: CISSP, CISM) are highly regarded.
  5. Relevant IT Vendor certifications (e.g: Microsoft, AWS) are highly regarded.
  6. You will have proven experience with operating Cyber controls, in particular the following would be highly regarded: Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Qualys, Zscaler (including DLP), AWS, Purview, Azure, Active Directory, Scripting and Automation.
  7. You will have proven experience with Cyber incident response.
  8. Previous experience with DLP response would be highly regarded.
