
Sports Media Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Insights Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for digital media and sports to make a real impact.
This role requires a deep understanding of how clients can best use content across their social media and owned channels to deliver on their growth objectives. You will need a strong analytical mindset, combined with excellent digital and social media knowledge, awareness of how to drive online engagement, and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will actively develop content, media, and engagement plans for our portfolio of sport-associated clients. They will have a broad knowledge of the digital media market and be responsible for implementing activations ranging from engagement, participation, subscription conversion, and retail sales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal departments to lead Audience Development, collaborate with the Creative team, Performance team, and Project Leads.
- Create and manage distribution strategies for both existing and new clients, delivering quality audiences across internal and social media channels.
- Develop meaningful, actionable insights using data analytical tools that benefit clients.
- Mix editorial content, organic and paid distribution, and activation across various sports disciplines and countries.
- Create audits for current and potential clients to help formulate content strategy.
- Identify opportunities within existing clients and work with the broader team to develop proposals.
- Present audience growth strategies for campaigns, advising both current and potential clients on their opportunities.
- Implement and manage campaigns, including budget management, new trends, and reporting KPI performance back to clients.
- Develop and grow client relationships by participating in client meetings to discuss strategy and performance.
- Discover 3rd party technologies/tools that can drive short-term and long-term conversion.
- Stay up-to-date with platform and industry developments, as well as relevant social media trends.
- Attend industry events and research new trends to keep us ahead of the competition.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working with clients, managing relationships, and delivering strategies.
- Broad knowledge of the digital media market and implementing activations ranging from engagement, participation, subscription conversion, and retail sales.
- Excellent in-depth understanding of all relevant social media platforms - YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok.
- Incredibly strong analytical mindset with experience in setting KPIs, measuring them, and presenting them to clients.
- Ability to scan through large datasets and quickly recognize trends among the data.
- Strong knowledge and experience of digital publishing software and techniques.
- A background developing social media strategy, KPIs, and goals to increase a digital audience and engagement.
- Skilled and comfortable with presenting digital strategy and creative ideas to senior management level clients.
- Ensure deep consumer understanding underpins all strategic thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A passion for the pace of digital marketing and digital platform evolution across key players like Facebook and Google.
- Experience working in a sports/creative or media agency is preferable but not essential.
