  • Maintaining awareness of legal and regulatory requirements (such as unfair contract terms and design and distribution obligations), and monitoring changes and developments in the legal and regulatory landscape, including AFCA decisions and regulatory publications.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of style guide, policy wording templates, and precedent documents.
  • Liaising with various business stakeholders including the Risk, Compliance and Claims Teams, and the Complaints and Customer Resolution Team to analyse internal claims information and feedback on existing policy wordings.
  • Communication and co-operation with key internal stakeholders within Australia and other jurisdictions.
  • Current NSW Practising Certificate.
  • Law degree with 3 to 5 years post qualification legal experience preferably in insurance and/or commercial law in either private legal practice or a corporate organisation (preferably an insurance company or other financial institution).
  • Front-end insurance experience, including policy wording drafting and advice will be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting the financial service industry (such as unfair contract terms) will be highly regarded.
  • Confidence in drafting and developing policy wordings and an interest in technical writing.
  • Knowledge of plain language writing, appreciation of grammar, and strong editing skills.
  • Ability to provide commercially-focussed legal and regulatory advice and policy drafting support.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
  • Demonstrated effective and pro-active communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with all levels of Chubb personnel as well as external parties. Must be good with people.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and adhere to deadlines.
  • A positive attitude and high integrity.

We offer you the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and agile environment where continuous development is encouraged throughout your career, both locally and globally.
