As an Energy Network Infrastructure Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and maintaining Western Power or customer facilities connected to the distribution network.

About this Opportunity

You will be required to undertake estimation and complex technical tasks associated with design, construction, and maintenance of Western Power or customer facilities connected to the distribution network. To assist with investigations and support process improvement activities, you will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing accurate estimates for projects encompassing materials, labour, sub-contract services, and costing for work associated with construction activities and commissioning on single/basic circuits and associated apparatus or services.
  • Completing all documentation, ordering of materials, entering and maintaining information in applicable computer systems, ensuring business processes are adhered to.
  • Undertaking contract administration to ensure contractor compliance to design and specifications and identify non-conformances of contractors; review designs, work performance, works programs.
  • Responding to correspondence and queries raised by customers, construction and maintenance crews, and other stakeholders on quotes issued via DQM.
  • Ensuring all variations to projects, procedures, programs, and processes are documented.
  • Preparing management reports for submission to the Team Leader.
  • Scheduling and planning your daily and weekly allocated work in order to meet agreed targets.
  • Providing technical support to project management plans and other work groups.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Western Power standards, quality, legal, and contractual requirements.

About You

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Diploma / Advanced Diploma in a relevant electrical discipline.
  • At least 6 to 7 years' post-qualification experience in distribution network-related activities with a thorough knowledge of principles of the relevant discipline and a sound understanding of the methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream is necessary.
  • Sound IT skills in required programs and systems.
  • The ability to complete project/assignment within specific guidelines.
  • Demonstrated skill in priority setting, activity planning, and organizing.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining work standards.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and conflict-resolving skills.
  • Able to identify and develop methods, processes, and systems for continuous improvement.
