We are seeking an experienced Environmental Management Specialist to lead the implementation and maintenance of our project-wide environmental management system.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on key environmental performance requirements, developing and building capability within the Environment team, and liaising with government bodies and stakeholders on environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on key environmental performance requirements, including approvals, objectives, and standards for managing project environmental risks.
- Develop and build capability of Environment team through Environmental Field Leadership.
- Lead environmental consultants and the collection of environmental field monitoring information.
- Develop, implement, and monitor scope-specific environmental deliverables such as Workplace Environmental Management Plans.
- Liaise with government bodies, Client, and professional organisations on environmental matters and audits.
- Communicate environmental roles and responsibilities, review project team environmental competencies, and identify training/development needs.
- Mentor and lead a small team of environmental professionals.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability, or other associated discipline, postgraduate qualifications, and current C Licence. A minimum of 5 years experience in project system implementation, audit management, and environmental management is also required. Prior experience on a Victorian Big Build job with EMF / EPR exposure is desirable.
